Crossroads is an intervention program for juvenile offenders that provides youth with the opportunity to choose a new direction while holding them accountable for their actions.
The benefits of the Crossroads Program include crime prevention and increased community safety, increased victim services, family empowerment, a lower juvenile recidivism rate and more responsible youth.
PASS (Program for the Acquisition of Social Skills) is an eight-week adolescent group for teens between the ages of 13-18. Some topics covered during the group course include: Self-awareness, Communication, Problem Solving, Job Interviewing, Manners, and Teamwork.
Crossroads Drivers Improvement Course is designed to reinforce safe driving principles to teen drivers and reduce traffic violations. When Juveniles in St. Tammany Parish receive a traffic ticket, they are not allowed simply to pay the ticket, but are required to attend Juvenile Traffic Court. There, they are referred to Youth Service Bureau’s Crossroads Program where they are assigned community Service Work and are often required to attend the Drivers Improvement Course. This two hour course is offered at the Youth Service Bureau once a month and is available to the general public.
