Volunteers

The Youth Service Bureau is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

As a non-profit organization, the Youth Service Bureau relies on the generosity of the community, the United Way, Government Grants, Private Foundations, and fund raising activities to support and fund the scope of services provided.

Each year, the request for services increases as does the cost. The Youth Service Bureau is continuously seeking additional sources of support.

If you or your organization would like to assist the Youth Service Bureau financially, through other donations, or by volunteering your time and talents, please contact Phyllis Nowak at (985) 893-2570. Please feel free to contact the YSB by email at the following address: resumes@ysbworks.com

Anyone interested in volunteering as a Youth Service Bureau Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children, may contact idieterich@ysbworks.com. Applicants must be objective, culturally-aware, emotionally stable, diplomatic individuals capable of networking with social service agencies and willing to undergo extensive criminal background checks. Those accepted will participate in a rewarding training experience to learn how to serve as effective volunteer advocates for quality treatment and services for children in State’s custody, and serve as a child’s voice in court. Minimum age is 21. Become a CASA Volunteer and speak up for a child needing your voice.

The Chef Soiree is the Youth Service Bureau's yearly fundraising event. It has been an extremely popular social event and culinary showcase for local chefs for many years. For information, e-mail chefsoiree@ysbworks.com or go to the website at www.chefsoiree.com.
